Katrina Chan 陳朗瑩

Ms. Chan graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy in 2010, and started working at Castle Peak Hospital and Siu Lam Hospital in the same year. She completed her Master of Social Sciences (Behavioral Health) in 2014.    Ms. Chan has extensive and comprehensive clinical experience. Apart from the Hospital Authority, she has worked as OT and administrative role in various institutions, including The Salvation Army and the New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association. Clients include children, adolescents, adults and the elderly, parents and caregivers who are affected by different levels of physical and mental health condition. Ms. Chan believes that everyone has the right and ability to choose and live a meaningful life. Through meaningful activities and personalized treatment plans, a balanced body, mind, social and spirit development could be achieved, so as to enhance confidence and ability to live independently.    Apart from therapy, Ms. Chan is passionate about public education, research and development, she cooperate with different sectors of society for education and service development. She developed the psychiatric driver assessment service and wrote newspaper column when she worked at Castle Peak Hospital. Later, when she worked in non-government organization, she established a number of new services, including the autistic support center, and was invited by the HKCSS to share innovative services . Ms. Chan is currently conducting service consultation in the New Life Psychiatric Rehabilition Association and is cooperating with the University of Hong Kong to develop the localization of assessment tool for people with intellectual disabilities.
